The Business Development Manager Role

This is an exciting new business sales role that will suit a committed self-starter who has a strong track record of delivering against target. You have a nose for discovering new prospects, and you know how to convert them into opportunities. You are consultative and curious by nature. You care about what makes businesses and buyers tick, and that drives you to results. You enjoy negotiation and thrive in a team environment. If this all sounds like you, we want to hear from you.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Generating C-level and other senior management leads through cold-calling, professional networking and sales meetings.
  • Nurturing your prospects through a consultative sales approach; managing the full negotiation and close process; managing the transition to the Client Service team.
  • Using your developed commercial acumen to navigate and understand the prospective clients’ business needs and effectively articulate our value proposition.
  • Using our CRM platform to effectively develop mini-campaigns and reports that deliver efficiency gains and drive achievement of your sales targets.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Undergraduate degree qualified (a business discipline would be highly regarded).
  • Previous successful sales / business development experience; including proven experience in commercial negotiations with C-level decision makers.
  • Solid understanding of business concepts and the current business environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to create and deliver convincing arguments to an executive audience.
  • Well-developed time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Determination, self-motivation and the ability to work in highly flexible, rapidly changing work environment.

Compensation for this role includes a base salary, bonus and commission structure.
