The Role

IBISWorld is seeking a detail-orientated individual to support our growing business as a Finance Team Leader. The ideal candidate will have a good base of accounting knowledge and experience, who takes initiative, and is looking for a role where they can hone and develop their skills.

This is a role with long-term growth prospects, where the successful candidate will have the capability to grow with the role as the business develops. You will work closely with other members of our global finance team, whilst being responsible for finance operations in our LA and NY businesses.  You will be joining an office with around 80 colleagues where a ‘can-do’ attitude will go a long way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with Finance Manager to achieve overall department goals
  • Manage day to day of US finance team
  • Hiring & training for US finance team
  • Prepare and review month end accounts, budgets & forecasts for NY
  • Prepare annual control budgets for NY
  • Review monthly accounts and budgets for LA
  • Review annual control budgets for US LA
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll process to ensure accuracy and timely completion
  • Assist with annual financial audit and other audit requirements
  • Assist with annual tax return
  • Maintain a regular review of income and expenditure with regards to cash flow
  • Carry out other duties as required


Key Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting specific role.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge and experience with audit and tax compliance
  • Experience in using an accounting software package
  • Experience working across a broad range of accounting tasks and meeting multiple tight deadlines
  • Experience setting and enforcing deadlines incorporating prioritization and time management
  • Ability to manage a team of people effectively
  • Ethical principles and ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information
  • High level of attention to detail, and good initiative
  • Ability work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately, with a proactive “can do” attitude
  • Accurate accounting classification of all expenditure within the chart of accounts
  • Strong communication skills, including effective communication with people at all levels, internally and externally


Compensation & Benefits:

  • $65,000 - $70,000 base salary
