The Role

This position involves the ability to prospect and close new business. We are seeking an aggressive hunter who will have a national sales territory to target a wide cross-section of the Australian economy. Key prospects include investment banks, M&A firms, accounting, procurement, consulting and other types of industries and occupations that have exposure to many industries.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Consultative Sales approach to identify a prospect's industry information needs
  • Subscription-based sales
  • Managing the sale from the beginning, through to contractual execution
  • Solid prospecting skills are required as we are seeking an individual that aggressively builds a pipeline.
  • Manage about 250+ prospects to meet annual sales targets
  • The focus of this position is NEW business generation, NOT account management
  • Some inbound leads provided but targeted cold calling is the core focus
  • Along with phone and email work, you will be required to do online and in-person presentations to prospects – including interstate

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Ability to research categories, identify targets and network within industry groups
  • Cold Calling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of selling principles and processes behind consultative selling
  • Organisational skills to ensure effective pipeline management
  • Must have ability to speak with prospects across a variety of industries and backgrounds
  • Punctuality and strong work ethic required
  • Great attitude
  • Degree in Business or Marketing related field would be favourable but not essential
  • Some understanding of business and the Australian business scene would be favourable but not essential

There is a negotiable base salary between $60,000-$65,000 based on experience plus generous commissions, bonuses, approved business expenses and super. OTE in excess of $80k, but with uncapped commissions your earnings potential should be considerably higher depending on work ethic and subsequent success.
