IBISWorld is a global company with offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, Sydney, Melbourne and Beijing. We are the world’s leading publisher of business research. Our success has created abundant opportunity and we’re looking for the best and brightest to join us as we continue to expand our operations.

Our mission is to be the premier provider of high value-added information to the largest and most influential enterprises in the nations where we operate. We do this while maintaining a culture where people are passionate about their work and are surrounded by like-minded, intelligent achievers. Your mission is to find out how you can be a part of our future.

The Role

IBISWorld is seeking enthusiastic and passionate professionals to join a growing sales department in the booming business intelligence sector. As a key component of the greater sales cycle, Sales Development Representatives are responsible for initial engagement with leads that are provided by in-house Lead Generation Specialists, as well as your own hunting efforts. Because you will be the first contact with and impression of IBISWorld, passion, professionalism and strong communication skills are keys to success in this role. The role is phone-based, with the majority of outgoing calls to C-level executives with the goal of qualifying the leads, sharing IBISWorld’s value proposition, building relationships and booking webinars.

As an SDR, you will also work closely with IBISWorld Business Development Managers to share your understanding of prospects’ business problems, objectives and growth strategies to best consult on service solutions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engage prospects and scope requirements to understand their business problems, objectives and growth plans to ensure suitability of solution
  • Identify prospects’ pain points and match IBISWorld's Procurement Research to their needs
  • Make significant outbound calls and emails on a daily basis to engage new and existing accounts
  • Manage a pipeline and move prospects through the sales cycle
  • Proactive and outside-the-box thinking for ideas and strategies to build the client base
  • Develop and keep current on knowledge of products, trends and competitors in target markets
  • Proactive and thorough research on target industries and companies
  • Work autonomously and take ownership of your own activity and performance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or sales a plus
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to understand your client’s business objectives and goals
  • Talent for cold calling with significant “phone stamina”
  • Proven success dealing directly with clientele across a variety of industries, backgrounds and levels, especially C-level executives
  • Ability to manage an opportunity pipeline as well as tight deadlines
  • Experience with Salesforce (or similar CRM) strongly preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize various responsibilities and deadlines
  • Flexibility to effectively deal with unexpected assignments and changes to workload based on management priorities
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others, but also self-motivating and autonomous
  • The ability to give product presentations (in-person or web-based) to various user groups

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Outstanding health benefits, including medical, dental and more
  • 401(k) plan with matching company contributions
  • Generous vacation accrual and paid holidays
  • Flex time and work-from-home opportunities for select employees
