The Role

IBISWorld is looking for a result oriented and innovative Sales Manager to join our New York Industry Research team. In this role you will lead a team of 8-10 Business Development Managers empowering them to reach their highest potential and ensuring they are consistently meeting their sales goals.

You will cultivate and lead a target-driven team that is ambitious, yet supportive of one another. You will also work one on one with each of your team members to understand their needs, maximize talent and amplify performance. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to serve as a collaborative partner and direct report to our VP of Industry. Together, you’ll ensure that sales strategies and processes are innovative, aligned with client needs and focused on driving revenue.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Proactively provide daily support, guidance and training to a team of 8-10 Business Development Managers.
  • Maintain 100% of monthly quota and hold all team members accountable to performance.
  • Motivate individuals to navigate and build their sales strategy with the goal of optimizing each deal.
  • Coach staff through development and management strategies to create a balanced opportunity pipeline.
  • Serve as a guide who can teach BDMs how to educate decision makers, build rapport, and negotiate contracts.
  • Lead the sales training and on-boarding process.
  • Identify key sales performance indicators and develop benchmarks for growth.
  • Foster a positive, upbeat, and winning culture that grows with healthy competition, teamwork, and strong commitment to individual and team accountability.
  • Provide monthly performance and forecasting reports and conduct individual performance reviews.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of sales experience (preferably inside) with a consistent record of exceeding targets.
  • 2+ years of leading an inside sales team that regularly exceeded sales goals.
  • Experience with a consultative sales approach and a demonstrable history of coaching sales people throughout that process, but also the ability to understand when to apply a more transactional approach.
  • Experience working with long sales cycles that involve multiple decision makers.
  • Enjoys the challenge of selling products and services ahead of and/or new to the market.
  • A motivator and competitor who can cultivate and maintain high morale and inspire pride at a team and individual level.
  • A solutions oriented individual who is not deterred by rejection, obstacles and unpredictable challenges
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills and ability to teach and develop this crucial skill within the team.
  • Possess extraordinary leadership abilities, and instinctively know how to use team and company assets to achieve success.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with experience working in high growth and unpredictable environments.
  • Salesforce and LinkedIn Navigator experience preferred.
